For a brief window in early summer, mature basswood (linden) trees burst into thousands of tiny, nectar-rich blossoms—and when the weather, rainfall, temperature, bloom and strength of the colonies all align, the bees can bring in an extraordinary amount of basswood nectar.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThat perfect alignment doesn’t happen every year.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBasswood blooms for only a short period, and its nectar flow can disappear almost as quickly as it begins.
